A station at Dalston Junction will offer quick, reliable rail links to Central London and Canary Wharf. To maximise the benefits of this major transport hub, Transport for London (TfL) and the London Development Agency (LDA) are delivering proposals for a new development above the station, which will regenerate the derelict area between Dalston Lane, Kingsland Road and Roseberry Place. |

The TfL and LDA plans will create a vibrant and sustainable community for Dalston Town Centre, offering a mix of new shops; residential accommodation; public spaces; improved pedestrian access to Kingsland Road from the east; and better links between the East London Line station and a new bus interchange. This builds on the London Borough of Hackney’s emerging Local Development Framework, forming part of the wider plan to revitalise Dalston Town Centre. TfL has conducted an extensive consultation with the local community, which is now compete. This ensured that public aspirations for Dalston were fully considered in shaping the proposals for this key site that has great potential, but faces significant challenges. A planning application for this opportunity at Dalston Junction was considered by the Hackney Council Planning Sub Committee on March 30th 2006 and was given planning consent. |
